From an electrical workshop to an international organisation

Our history

2020

BORG Automotive acquired the Spanish turbocharger company Turbo Motor Inyeccion S.L., adding remanufacturing of turbochargers to its business portfolio.

2019

CPI was nominated as supplier of a Major passenger Car Manufacturer with worldwide footprint.

2018

In 2018, BORG Automotive opened an additional production facility in Lublin, Poland. This move generated more production capacity for brake calipers and EGR valves.

2017

In 2017, BORG Automotive was acquired by the Danish Conglomerate Schouw and Co., giving BORG Automotive and CPI additional financial leverage to sustain the growth. Schouw & Co. is a listed industrial conglomerate that makes long-term investments in leading Danish businesses in which active and developing ownership is performed.

Furthermore, CPI was nominated as supplier of a Heavy duty Manufacturer with worldwide footprint and CPI entered the OES Segment; a segment which supplements the historical presence of CPI in the IAM through private labels.

2014

In 2014, BORG Automotive opened one of the largest core warehouse in Poland and Europe. This new addition strengthened the service level for all our customers. With more than 3000m2 available and a storage capacity of more than 1 million core units, the group is in a strong position to meet the growing demand for faster delivery and more unique products from our customers.

2012

In 2012, CPI has joined the BORG Automotive Group as an independent Sales & R&D organization with the mission to develop private label customers. CPI will increase the Borg Group market shares into the private label segment through multiple collaborations with Tier 1 as well as OE’s for their service parts program. In parallel of the Sales activity, CPI will work on the introduction of new remanufactured product lines.

2004

In 2004, Søren Toft Jensen created the BORG Automotive Group, a new company frame that will allow further expansion through sales development, enlargement of the product portfolio and multiple acquisitions.

1975

More than 40 years ago, our founder, Mr Søren Toft Jensen began working in his own electrical workshop in Rudkøbing, Denmark. During this time, the workshop did general auto electrical repairs but it soon became clear that a growing market for remanufacturing starters and alternators in Europe would create new opportunities. The company evolved successfully on a fast path from a workshop in Denmark to an internationally based company exporting remanufactured starters and alternators throughout whole of Europe.
